She also contributed three points on three assists while starting 18 of the 20 games she appeared in.<b>2003 (Sophomore):</b>Dana saw action in all 16 games for Pacific in 2003, including seven starts. Slowed by early season injuries, Walsh finished the season with one goal and two assists, including a goal in the Tigers' 3-2 loss to #17 Cal on Oct. 4th.<b>2002 (Freshman):</b>Walsh made a statement in her first year as a Tiger, starting 16 of 18 games and earning the NorPac Western Division Rookie of the Year Award. On the season she finished tied for the team lead with two assists and made one defensive save. Walsh attempted 11 shots for Pacific and provided some of the most consistent play of any Tiger throughout the season.<b>High School:</b>Walsh attended La Costa Canyon High School, where she and fellow newcomer Michelle Manson led the Mavericks to a 45-5 combined record in her junior and senior seasons as well as three consecutive Palomar League championships. Walsh notched 12 goals as a senior, second on her team, and was named to the CIF second team and North Country first team in 2001. Dana earned first team All-Palomar League honors in 1999, 2000, and 2001. She was a USFHA Junior Olympics selection in 2000 and was also selected to the National Futures Tournament in both 1999 and 2000. In the classroom, Walsh earned her school's Scholar Athlete Award from 1999-2002 and also won the Governor's Scholar Award.<b>Personal:</b>Dana Walsh is the daughter of Steve and Anne Walsh. Dana has one sister, Meghan (24). In her fourth year at Pacific, Dana is a biological sciences major.<b>MacDonald on Walsh:</b>"Dana proved invaluable last year in defense despite some limitations due to injury. We hope to see her at full strength this fall. She has excellent stick skills and vision on the field."
